Bravoholics are rallying behind Amanda Batula as she sets the record straight on Kyle’s debt and unapologetically owns her truth. Fans think this might just be her power-move era.
After splitting from
Summer House co-star and husband
Kyle Cooke earlier this year,
Amanda Batula is finally breaking her silence on two of the biggest Bravo Universe talking points – his jaw-dropping business debt and his on-air criticism of her weed use.
In a candid interview with
Marie Claire published March 3, Amanda clarified that Kyle’s reported $4 million Loverboy debt stems from a business loan he took out before they married and doesn’t involve her. Although she admits a prenup would have protected her fully.
“Everyone needs a prenup,” Amanda
told the publication. “Kyle has this Loverboy debt from a business loan he took out before we got married, and everyone’s freaking out about it...a prenup would have protected me 100 percent from it.”
Amanda, 34, didn’t hold back when addressing the backlash viewers and social media users have thrown her way amid the marriage’s very public end. She emphasized that she’s always been open about smoking weed, something Bravo simply hasn’t shown much on camera, and dismissed Kyle’s criticism as a behind-the-scenes attempt to shame her rather than a revelation.
"I’ve never been ashamed or tried to hide it," she
said, also pointing out that Kyle himself consumes THC drinks and participates in the same legal cannabis culture she does.
Bravoholics have been quick to side with her. Across social media, many praised Amanda for her authenticity, applauding her willingness to own her choices rather than defend or downplay them.
"He was trying to shame me, make me seem like a bad person," she
explained. Kyle is notoriously known for his drinking and partying habits. The way she sees it is, "You’re destroying your liver; I’m destroying my lungs. We’ll both die happy."
Comments on social media also range from encouragement to playful speculation about her potentially launching her own cannabis-related venture, from "slumber party gummies" to a lifestyle brand that captures her laid-back aesthetic. Some believe that handling this drama publicly could be a major win for Amanda.
Since Amanda and Kyle announced their separation in January, a split they described as "mutual and amicable," fans have watched every twist and turn of their relationship and breakup play out. When asked how she’s mentally hanging in and navigating her new reality, Amanda had a strong response that might surprise a handful of fans.
"Honestly, I feel like I’m on cloud nine. Unstoppable," she stressed. "The past two weeks, I’ve never been happier."
