In a revealing essay for The Cut, actress and singer Ashley Tisdale opened up about her experiences with a "toxic" mom group that included fellow celebrities Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore.

Tisdale's candid reflections have sparked significant discussions online, with fans expressing both outrage at the group dynamics and unwavering support for her bravery in sharing her story.

In her heartfelt essay, Tisdale, 40, recounted a moment of isolation when she sat alone after putting her daughter to bed, feeling lost and questioning why she was excluded from the group's social interactions.

"This is too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore," she texted the group, marking her decision to step back.

Tisdale acknowledged that while she didn’t consider all the mothers to be "bad people," except for maybe one, she ultimately chose to cut ties for her well-being, noting how the group's dynamic became unhealthy and emotionally draining.

She said the difficult decision came shortly after the "dynamic stopped being healthy and positive." Tisdale touched upon the group's actions and called it "mean girl behavior." In fact, she often found herself being left out on purpose.

"I realized that there were group text chains that didn’t include everyone, which led to cliques forming within the larger group," she said. "And after the third or fourth time of seeing social media photos of everyone else at a hangout that I didn’t get invited to, it felt like I wasn’t really part of the group after all."

It is unclear who Tisdale is referring to, but she did unfollow both Duff and Moore on Instagram. However, she is still following Trainor. The High School Musical star shares daughters Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 1, with husband Christoper French.

This essay, published by The Cut, is far from the first time she opened up about this A-list mom group. She recently wrote a blog post about her experience and encouraged her fandom to share their stories.

"If a mom group consistently leaves you feeling hurt, drained, or left out, it’s not the mom group for you. (Even if it used to be!) It’s no longer serving you in a way that lifts you up, and you don’t have to stay out of obligation or anything else," she wrote on her website. "Choosing to step away doesn’t make you mean or judgmental. It makes you honest with yourself."

Fans took to social media to express their support for Tisdale. One fan passionately stated, "I am so glad you are sharing your personal story @ashleytisdalefrench @thecut! My platform specifically calls out what I call the 'Mean Girl Mom Cycle' and the different stages women experience as a part of a toxic mom group."

The discussion surrounding Tisdale's revelations also sparked curiosity about how her former mom group members might respond. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Duff, Trainor, and Moore will address Tisdale’s claims or if they will distance themselves further.

One fan speculated, "It'll be interesting to see if they out Tisdale for anything she did wrong that led to this fallout. But honestly, she has every right to speak up!"

Fans have emphasized the broader implications of Tisdale's experience, highlighting the importance of healthy friendships among women.

"Where do you think their kids get it? Our kids need to see women supporting women and standing by them," another fan remarked, acknowledging the cycles of behavior that can impact future generations.

The mom group Tisdale mentioned has been in the spotlight for years, with Duff previously gushing about their close-knit bond as they navigated motherhood together. In a December 2024 interview, Duff expressed, "I feel like our big connection to one another, even though we’re pop stars or on TV, is we love our kids."

As Tisdale continues to share her story, her fans are expressing gratitude for her authenticity. Many hope she sparks a larger conversation about the toxic relationships that can arise in motherhood and the necessity of women supporting each other.
