Kim Kardashian is set to star as a villain in the upcoming 'Bratz' live-action movie, and fans are calling it the perfect casting for the fashion icon.
Kim Kardashian is officially stepping into her most fabulous and fierce ole yet. According to Deadline, the reality TV icon and entrepreneur is set to star as a villain in the upcoming Bratz live-action film, and fans across the internet are calling it “the casting of the century.”
The 44-year-old isn’t just acting in the film, she’s also serving as a producer for MGA Entertainment alongside Jason Larian and Jasmin Larian, as well as Erik Feig and Julia Hammer with Picturestart. Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are set to write the script. The project has officially landed at Amazon MGM Studios.
While plot details remain under wraps, the buzz is already building and for good reason. The Bratz franchise, which first launched in 2001, has sold over 200 million dolls globally and holds the title for highest social media engagement of any toy brand in the world.
Following the massive success of Barbie in 2023, this stylish, bold, and boundary-breaking doll line seems like the perfect next chapter in the toy-to-film pipeline.
And fans think Kardashian is made for it.
“Kim is a Bratz doll. The face, the fashion, the fierceness — who else could pull this off?” one fan wrote on social media Another chimed in, “Honestly, we all doubted her acting career at first, but this just might be her big-screen breakthrough.”
While some viewers were initially skeptical about Kardashian’s pivot to acting, she’s been quietly proving the naysayers wrong. Her performance in American Horror Story: Delicate was praised by critics and fans alike, with co-star Sarah Paulson even calling for people to take her seriously.
"I think it is absolutely time for people to take Kim Kardashian seriously as an actress," Paulson to Yahoo! Entertainment. "She was absolutely excellent in American Horror Story: Delicate."
Kardashian’s filmography has been growing steadily. In addition to the Bratz project, she’s currently starring in and producing The Fifth Wheel, a Netflix comedy directed by Eva Longoria. She’s also lined up to star in the upcoming Hulu legal drama All’s Fair and is producing Group Chat, another Hulu series featuring her longtime friend La La Anthony.
Between motherhood, law school, running multiple businesses, and building an impressive slate of entertainment projects, Kardashian continues to redefine what it means to be a modern-day mogul.
With the Bratz movie set to bring bold fashion, unapologetic attitudes, and childhood nostalgia to the big screen, Kardashian’s casting feels less like a surprise and more like destiny. And if the early fan reactions are any indication, this villain role could very well become her most celebrated performance yet.
