As devoted Lovatics, we're relieved Demi is putting her health first!
Demi Lovato announced earlier this week (Feb. 10) on Instagram that she is postponing the start of her It’s Not That Deep Tour and canceling several dates to "protect my health," saying she realized she had "overextended what may be possible" and needs "more time to rest and rehearse."
The 33-year-old said performances in Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Denver are canceled, and the Orlando date has been moved back three days to serve as the new tour kickoff. Ther singer-songwriter added that Ticketmaster and AXS buyers will receive automatic refunds.
Lovato’s announcement comes as she prepares to promote It’s Not That Deep, a pop-leaning project she’s described as reflecting a lighter personal place.
"I think it's really a reflection of where I'm at personally," she told Paper Magazine in a September interview, calling the album a shift from the heavier material on her previous record, Holy Fvck. Lovato has said her recent marriage to Jordan “Jutes” Lutes inspired that change.
"I’ve waited my whole life for him,” she told explained in 2024, describing the relationship as grounding and supportive
Fan reaction has been mixed but broadly sympathetic. Many self-identified "Lovatics" praised Lovato for putting mental and physical well-being first after a long, public history with depression and other mental-health challenges, saying they want her to "take one step at a time" and will continue to support her as she recovers and rehearses.
Other fans expressed frustration over canceled shows, but a sizable portion appreciated the advance notice and the professional handling of refunds through primary ticketing platforms.
Some ticketholders cautioned that they’ll keep an eye on Lovato’s social channels for any further changes, noting that additional adjustments to the tour schedule would not come as a surprise given her transparency about health and workload.
For now, Lovato closed her message to fans with gratitude and optimism, " am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me… Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon."
