Justin Bieber is making his long-awaited return to music and it’s happening this week. According to the The Hollywood Reporter, the pop superstar will release his seventh studio album on Friday, July 11 through Def Jam.

Though neither Bieber nor the label has officially commented, the signs are all there and Beliebers are already buzzing with excitment.

Earlier this week, billboards featuring Bieber’s face and the word “Swag” popped up in both Los Angeles and Iceland, leading fans to believe that could be the album’s title. While nothing has been confirmed – the cryptic rollout, combined with recent teasers from Bieber himself, has the internet in full detective mode.

This release marks Bieber’s first full-length album since 2021’s Justice, and insiders say the creative process behind it has been anything but traditional. Back in April, Bieber flew to Iceland to finish the album in a remote setting that doubled as a creative retreat.

The trip included jam sessions with close collaborators and gave him space to explore fresh musical ideas. On social media, the hitmaker has been dropping subtle clues about the album’s completion.

According to THR,  project reportedly features a mix of familiar collaborators and exciting new voices. Sources say artists like Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain will appear on the album. Behind the boards, Bieber worked with his longtime DJ Tay James, musical director HARV, and producer Dylan Wiggins, known for his work with The Weeknd and Kali Uchis.

Rising acts like U.K. singer Sekou and SZA collaborator Carter Lang were also involved, some of whom Bieber discovered through social media and reached out to directly. This new era in Bieber’s career comes during a time of major personal and professional transformation. Since his last album, he became a father with wife Hailey Bieber and ended his longtime business relationship with manager Scooter Braun.

That split followed financial tensions tied to the cancellation of Bieber’s Justice World Tour, which left the singer owing more than $20 million to promoter AEG. Braun stepped in to cover the cost, and the two have since resolved the issue.

Their partnership extended far beyond music. Braun played a key role in Bieber’s $200 million catalog sale to Hipgnosis Songs, one of the most lucrative deals ever for an artist under 30. And just this year, Hailey sold her skincare brand Rhode Beauty to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion – another major milestone for the Bieber brand.

With everything that’s changed since 2021, this album feels like more than just a comeback, it’s a reintroduction. From mysterious billboards to low-key jam sessions in Iceland, Bieber’s approach to this release is personal, intentional, and loaded with creative energy.
