Fans everywhere are buzzing with excitement after Lewis Capaldi’s heartfelt return to the Glastonbury Festival on June 28, marking his first major performance in two years.

After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on his health, the “Someone You Loved” singer’s surprise set on the iconic Pyramid Stage felt like a homecoming and his fans couldn’t be happier.

Glastonbury. It's good to be back," said the 28-year-old during his set. "I'm not going to say much up here today because, If I did, I might start crying."

He contined to mention that he "really, really missed" performing during his hiatus. 

"It's been difficult at times [thinking] that maybe this wouldn't ever happen again," he uttered. "Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, it means the f***ing world to me that everyone's here. My name is Lewis Capaldi and I'm f***ing back, baby!" 

His tight-knit fandom turned to social media to celebrate the moment and to praise the  chart-topping artist for his bravery. 

"Every now and then the right person is made famous. This is one of them❤️," wrote a follower on TikTok. "so brave to come back , that takes a lot of courage and determination 🥰," added another. "Wellcome back Lewis. You were missed my love❤️as someone who suffers with Tourette’s I have the up most respect for you well done looking forward to seeing more of you ❤️🥰." 

Capaldi hasn’t just made a comeback; he’s become a beacon of hope for those living with disorders like Tourette’s syndrome. According to Mayo Clinic, Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics, which can be difficult to control. It often begins in childhood and varies in severity, with symptoms sometimes triggered or worsened by stress or excitement.

Lewis Capaldi’s decision to step away from performing came after an emotional and widely publicized moment during his Glastonbury 2023 set. As he struggled with vocal issues on stage –later linked to his Tourette’s syndrome. The singer visibly battled to finish his performance.

The crowd stepped in, singing his lyrics back to him in support, but the experience left a deep impact.Shortly after, Capaldi announced he would be taking a break from touring to prioritize his mental and physical health, sharing that he needed time to adjust to the effects of his condition. The moment not only highlighted his vulnerability but deepened fans' respect and admiration for his bravery.

"I've always had it apparently," the singer previosuly said on an Instgram Live. "So, I do the shoulder twitch quite a lot and you see underneath every TikTok people are like, 'Why is he twitching?' Which is fine. Curiosity is fine. I get it. It's a new thing, I haven't really learned much about it – I'm learning. I've got Botox on my shoulder to stop it moving. It worked for a bit, but the worst thing about it is when I'm excited I get it, when I'm stressed I get it, when I'm happy I get it. It happens all the time." 

He ended the Instgram Live addressing fans, "I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve."
