Selena Gomez launched a new initiative on her birthday to make mental health resources more accessible.
Selena Gomez celebrated turning 33 this July 22 in a truly meaningful way – by launching a new chapter of her mental health advocacy with the Rare Impact Fund Giving Circle. Marking five years since she first started the Rare Impact Fund, Gomez is inviting fans worldwide to come together and support life-changing mental health programs for young people everywhere.
In an intimate Instagram post, Gomez reflected, "5 years ago today – on my birthday – we launched the Rare Impact Fund with a simple goal: to help more young people around the world feel seen, supported, and cared for. Mental health has always been deeply personal to me, and I wanted to build something that could create lasting change."
She continued, "Since then, thanks to your support, we've reached over 2 million young people and supported 20 incredible organizations around the globe. And this is just the beginning."
The Giving Circle, built in partnership with Dollar Donation Club, invites donations from as little as $1 a month – under tiers like Gratitude ($1), Bold ($5), and Rare ($10). Members will enjoy exclusive insights into nonprofit partners’ impact, curated mental-health content, and even collectible swag.
Seth Blaustein, founder of Dollar Donation Club, emphasized its empowering nature, "We are not asking people to give more – we are inviting them to give together.”
Gomez's commitment to mental health is deeply personal. She’s been open about navigating anxiety, depression, lupus, bipolar disorder and even chronicled the journey in her 2022 documentary My Mind & Me. Her transparency has resonated deeply, especially with fans, who view her as a beacon of authenticity and vulnerability.
The launch of the Giving Circle reflects her ongoing dedication to creating lasting change and providing young people with the support they deserve.
"Let's build a future where every young person has the mental health support they deserve," the hitmaker wrote on social media. "Thank you for showing up, for each other, and for the next generation. This is what rare impact looks like."
