Taylor Swift just served a playful jab at male sports fans on Travis Kelce’s 'New Heights' podcast, and Swifties couldn’t be happier!
Taylor Swift made a splash ahead of her official debut on Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast, playfully addressing the male sports fans who have long reacted to her NFL appearances.
In a sneak peek released for the Wednesday, August 13 episode, Swift joked that if there's one thing male sports fans want "in their spaces and on their screens – it's more of me," a subtle but pointed jab that didn't overshadow the fun.
Swift, 35, appeared alongside boyfriend Travis, 35, and his brother Jason Kelce, 37, who opened with a high-energy introduction highlighting her Eras Tour and record-breaking album The Tortured Poets Department.
"Thank you for screaming for, like, 47 seconds for me. That was so nice. That was so sweet," Swift said to Jason, showing off her characteristic humor while keeping the conversation lighthearted.
Since her relationship with Travis went public in September 2023, Swift has become a regular presence at Kansas City Chiefs games, bringing a new audience to NFL broadcasts.
Speaking to TIME in December 2023, she explained, "I'm just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I 'm being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads."
The hitmaker continued, "I don't know how they know what suite I'm in. There's a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don't know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don't know if I'm being shown 17 times or once."
The former Philadelphia Eagles center has previously echoed that the attention is a natural result of audience demand.
"The attention's there because the audience wants to see it," Jason told ABC affiliate WCPO 9 in 2024. "I mean, if people didn't want to see it, they wouldn't be showing it. I know that. She's a world star, she's the quintessential artist right now in the world, singer-songwriter, immensely talented, unbelievable role model for young women across the globe."
Fans are loving the preview. On social media, Swifties and NFL fans alike praised her quick-witted approach to addressing skeptics. One wrote, "Taylor immediately addressing all the misogynistic male sports fans after getting the most hyped intro of all time by Jason Kelce I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT 👏," while another added, "Gotta love her, she's such a savage 😂🙌❤️🔥."
Many hope that the naysayers will watch the episode with an open mind, setting the tone for a more respectful start to the new NFL season.
The podcast appearance coincides with Swift's announcement of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, and promises a mix of playful banter, behind-the-scenes insight into her relationship with Travis, and the first taste of Swift's next musical era. Fans are already counting down the hours until the full episode drops.
