Bad Bunny is proving he’s not just a force in music but is also ready to make waves in Hollywood.

The Grammy-winning artist, who’s currently dominating with his Puerto Rico residency described as “insane” and having a “unique vibe,” is stepping into the acting world with a role in the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2, premiering on Netflix July 25.

Adam Sandler, the comedy legend behind the Happy Gilmore franchise, revealed to Variety that he was so impressed by Bad Bunny’s comedic skills during his hosting stint on Saturday Night Live earlier this year that he wrote a role specifically for him.

Sandler shared, “I saw him and I couldn’t believe how funny he was.” The collaboration took shape after a chance meeting at a Lakers game, where Sandler and Bad Bunny exchanged pleasantries. Soon after, Sandler’s team made space in the script for a new character – one that Bad Bunny was perfect to play.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Bad Bunny opened up about the experience, sharing what it was like working alongside Sandler and NFL star Travis Kelce

For fans, this new acting chapter is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. Many fans express enthusiasm about seeing Bad Bunny in a fresh role beyond music. However, some worry that branching out might distract him from his music, which has been the core of his creative output and success. Still, the consensus among fans is supportive. Many say that if Bad Bunny can balance both worlds, Hollywood could have him.

Bad Bunny’s leap into acting marks another exciting chapter in a career that continues to evolve. With Happy Gilmore 2 streaming soon and his music residency still rocking Puerto Rico, it looks like Bad Bunny is just getting started on exploring new creative territories.
