It’s official: The Devil Wears Prada 2 is happening and fans are piecing it together one clue at a time.

Anne Hathaway sparked major buzz earlier this morning (July 21) when she  posted a brief TikTok that seemed to confirm the long-rumored sequel is finally underway. In the six-second clip, Hathaway appears brushing her teeth while wearing a button-down shirt under a cerulean sweater – an unmistakable nod to her character Andy Sachs’ look from the original 2006 film.

The caption, “Heading to werk,” paired with the hashtag #dwp2, was all fans needed to start speculating.

Soon after, Stanley Tucci, who played the stylish and sharp Nigel, posted a TikTok of his own, saying, “I took a little break from packing, because I’m going to film The Devil Wears Prada soon.” That confirmation only fueled excitement.

Emily Blunt, who played the no-nonsense assistant Emily Charlton, recently revealed that production officially begins this month. While plot details remain under wraps, Blunt told Entertainment Tonight  that her character is now a high-powered executive and could be facing off with Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly once again.

“Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?” Blunt joked to the outlet. “Let’s hope we remedy it.”

In addition to the returning stars, a fresh lineup of new cast members has been announced. Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), BJ Novak (The Office), Conrad Ricamora (How to Get Away with Murder), Broadway actress Helen J. Shen, and comedian Caleb Hearon will all appear in the sequel, according to Variety. 

While fans will have to wait until May 2026 for the film’s release, the subtle social media teases and cast confirmations have made one thing clear: The Devil Wears Prada 2 is no longer a rumor...it’s on its way.
